Autumn wedding: how to choose decorations

Autumn has the warm colors of red, yellow and gold, carpets of dry leaves that crunch underfoot, the sweetness of ripe fruits and the scent of mushrooms.

Those who decide to get married in autumn will have the opportunity to enjoy the warm tones that nature offers and the unique atmospheres that this season offers us.

It is the time of year that still offers us days that are not too cold and we can take advantage of outdoor spaces. at least during daylight hours.

It’s the time for intense colors. Red, brick, orange, brown, yellow, golden and green.

For decorations you can choose a country style, with hay bales, wood and candles.

Combining the typical flowers of the season such as dahlias, hydrangeas, ranunculus and sunflowers with berries, lavender, ears of wheat, bark and colored leaves allows you to have arrangements with truly evocative effects.

The colored leaves can be used instead of petals, as original placeholders or to enrich compositions.

Small pine cones and  acorns  can be used to compose original boutonierres.

Pumpkins, apples and other fruits typical of this period, to decorate corners or sweets.

 

Centerpiece and bouquet

For centerpieces, it will be a good idea to collect branches and arrange them with flowers in red and orange shades, combined with a few points of green and dark brown.

Candles and lanterns must not be missing. The days are shorter and the light is not like in summer. So play with the flames which can also be from a lit fireplace or braziers.

Even for the bouquet the advice is to stay on warm tones.
Calla lilies, gerberas, sunflowers, St. John’s wort, orchids and roses are some of the flowers that you can combine with typical autumn leaves and branches.

Dessert table

This season, in addition to the classic wedding cake which can be decorated with autumnal elements, baked desserts such as berry tarts, apple pies, fruit juices, jellies, jams and cupcakes are also suitable.

A thought for your guests could be to set up a corner with fleece blankets or colored pashminas. They will be much appreciated, especially in the less hot evening hours.

Even wedding favors should recall the autumn theme. Jars with jam or honey, chocolate packages or flavored tea bags are some examples of gifts for your guests.
