Wedding location: have you thought about it yet?
The special place where you will celebrate with your guests, close friends and relatives is one of the most important aspects of your wedding.
You will remember this day for the rest of your life and it is essential to make the right choice so as not to have any unpleasant surprises.
Before you start the actual research, I advise you to stop for a moment and analyse these five points well.
1. What will be the number of guests. Have you made your list yet?
Knowing how many people will be at your reception is crucial. It is different having 20 guests or having 150. The venue must be suitable to receive the number of people you will invite. Start making a list now of all the people you wish to invite. Starting early is advantageous, it will relieve you of anxieties and problems during the period close to the wedding, when you will have a hundred other things to think about.
2. When? The period in which the event will take place.
While it is best to decide on the date after choosing the location, the period should already be in mind beforehand. The season preferred by most couples is summer and the most suitable wedding locations are villas with large gardens and important outdoor spaces. Farmhouses, farms and estates for those who love a rustic environment, beaches for those who love the sea, parks and forests for those who want contact with nature.
In any case, remember that it is important to always have alternatives in case of rain or bad weather: indoor venues or ideas to be realised on site.
Here, one can indulge in original or more classic ideas, hiring structures to match the venue, studying lighting and fittings together with a wedding designer.
For winter weddings, castles or country farmhouses are most appropriate: warm interiors and furnishings reminiscent of home and family warmth. For intimate weddings with only a few guests, chalets are beautiful.
Arrangements and decorations should be studied in detail to make the ambience warm and romantic.
3. How much space?
Consider that it is good to have different environments and spaces for different times of the day. This will create movement and people will not be forced to stand still for a long time and get bored or tired.
How would you like the various moments to unfold?
Aperitif, lunch or dinner, cutting of the cake, confetti, dancing and fun choose the right location according to your needs.
4. What is your style and what excites you?
Find a place that excites you, that reflects who you are and what you feel inside.
It is your day and it is very important to feel in the right place and at ease.
Do you like the landscape, the scenery, the nature, the spaces? What kind of objects do you want around you? Is the atmosphere right?
Ask yourself these questions! You have to feel in harmony with your surroundings.
5. What is your budget?
Try to establish a priori and clearly how much you are willing to spend on the wedding location and communicate this to those who will help you with this.
It is pointless to look for the princely castle if you cannot afford it or want to spend less.
For the actual search for the location, ask a wedding planner for help: she will be able to propose different alternatives and advise you in the best way within the established budget.
